Das Gastec-Detektorröhrchensystem besteht aus einer tragbaren Gastec-Gasentnahmepumpe und Gastec-Detektorröhrchen.

Gastec-Detektorröhrchen werden in Umgebungen eingesetzt, in denen Probenahme, Screening und TWA-Messungen erforderlich sind. Sie sind von höchster Qualität und eignen sich für die genaue Analyse einer Vielzahl von Gasen, Dämpfen und Grundstoffen. Die Glasröhrchen sind mit einem chemischen Reagenz gefüllt, daß das zu messende Gas oder den Dampf absorbiert und mit ihm reagiert. Es entsteht eine kolorimetrische Färbung (ein Farbwechsel). Bei den meisten Röhrchen wird die Konzentration direkt von der punktgenauen Messskala auf jedem Röhrchen abgelesen. Diese Form der Überwachung ist ideal für Stichproben, da sie genauer sein kann als elektronische Gasdetektoren.
